AdMob announced that the number of requests on its mobile ad network rose from 1.5 billion in September 2007 to 5.1 billion in September 2008. The increase is attributable to a combination of organic growth and the addition of thousands of new mobile sites and applications to its network. The number of sites and applications in AdMob's network increased to mover than 6,000, with 4,308 publishers requesting ads in September 2008.

The Apple iPhone generate 103 million ad requests in September 2008 and is now the number 4 handset behind the Motorola RAZR, Nokia N70, and Motorola KRZR. In the UK, the Nokia N95 is now the leading handset with 9.7% of the requests. -Stuart Whitaker
